ECCPICS’09
ECCPICS’09
It was another stellar day at Ecclestone pool, featuring outstanding performances by our swimmers as well as our volunteers. Not only did ECC’s swim team produce the best overall Big Meet result in recent memory – a GIGANTIC 3rd place finish out of 19 NAA pools – but we’ve been told that we hosted one of the best organized Big Meets that the NAA has ever seen.
We scored 583 points in the meet for a total of 3369 points overall in the season – winning the ‘B’ Division by 436 points over second placed Westminster pool. As a result, we will move up to the prestigious ‘A’ division next year.
Our 8-and-under squad earned an amazing total of 209 points over the season to win the Derek McSweeney Award for Best 8-and-Under Swim Team by 51 points over 2nd placed Thorndale.
ECC swimmers took home a total of 14 medals, led by our speedy 8-and-under squad and its Queen “Bee”, Elisabeth Laflamme. Bee celebrated her 9th birthday by winning all 3 of her events, the 25m freestyle, 25m breaststroke and the 4x25m relay, with teammates Kaehla Acteson, Tia Boulos and Emmanuelle Laflamme.
Amanda Gagne won our 4th gold medal in the 15-and-over breaststroke.
